A lightsky in Hotel Riverton

Through the light in the skybar of the hotel we created a subtle and magical experince for the visitors. The end result became a prolonged sky into the skybar. The visitor would get the feeling that one really is in the sky when entering the skybar.

Interior before

Sensors that capture the present colors of the sky and transferr these to the colors of the ceiling, to provide an experience of peace for the guest. The guest is reminded that she is a part of something complete and infinite. The visit reflects the true nature of the guest so she can release the everyday stress that many persons often experience.

Visiting the skybar will be an experience in any weather, the guests should feel that she has chosen just the right day and weather to stay here. Regardless if the sky is clear blue or rainy and gray.

The white light streaks (see the picture above) complement the other colors in the ceiling and reinforce all types of weather into an experience of the better. In a gray weather the room feels fresh and the gray tones of various forms in the ceiling look beautiful and sober instead of ugly and boring. The gray color is of course no less beautiful than any other color, but when seen in the sky, it is often associated with coldness and bitterness; a conventional idea. This is something we wanted to change; to make the guest experience all weathers as something beautiful, which they actually are!
